Orabux

Official contest rules

Last updated 16 October 2026

1Who runs Orabux contests

Every contest on Orabux is run and administered by Orabux Limited, a company registered in Nigeria ("Orabux"). Orabux holds the prize money and entry fees, checks entries and votes, and pays the winners. The person who creates a contest (the host) chooses its theme, prize pool, entry fee, number of winners and dates, and pays the full prize pool in before it starts. These rules apply to every contest, together with our Terms of use and the details on each contest's page.

2Apple and Google are not involved

Apple and Google are not sponsors of, and are not involved in any way with, Orabux contests. Any questions, comments or complaints about a contest go to Orabux, not to Apple or Google.

3Who can enter

  • You must be 18 or older and live in Nigeria.
  • You need an Orabux account in good standing. One person, one account.
  • Hosts and co-hosts can't enter or vote in their own contest.
  • A host can limit who may enter (for example, their followers). Any limit is shown on the contest page.

4Entering

  • Enter from the contest page before it ends, with your own video made for the contest. Each person can enter a contest once.
  • Free-entry contests cost nothing to enter. Paid-entry contests charge the entry fee shown on the contest page, taken from your Orabux wallet when you enter. No purchase is needed to enter a free contest, to vote, or to win in one.
  • Your entry must follow the contest's theme, our Terms of use and our community rules. You must own your video or have the right to use everything in it, including music.
  • Videos already on Orabux, or copied from someone else, are refused.

5How winners are chosen

  • Winners are chosen by the votes of the Orabux community. Each account has one vote per contest, which it can move to another entry until the contest ends. Votes are free.
  • When the contest ends, entries are ranked by votes. The top entries win, up to the number of winners on the contest page.
  • An entry needs at least one vote to win.
  • If entries are tied for a winning place, the contest runs for a short extra time (one hour, or the original length for contests shorter than an hour) to break the tie.
  • Votes from fake accounts, bots, paid voting or anything else that breaks our Terms don't count. We can remove them, disqualify the entries they helped, and close the accounts involved.
  • Gifts never change votes or rankings.

6Prizes

  • The prize pool and how it's split between winning places are shown on the contest page before you enter. The full pool is paid in by the host before the contest starts and held by Orabux until the contest ends.
  • Prizes are paid in Nigerian naira into the winners' Orabux wallets, usually within minutes of the contest ending. Winners can then withdraw to a Nigerian bank account.
  • Orabux keeps a fee from each prize. The current fee is shown in the app.
  • Prizes can't be transferred to anyone else or swapped for anything else.
  • Winners are responsible for any tax on their prizes.

7If a contest ends with no winner

  • If nobody enters, or no entry gets a vote, there's no winner. Every entry fee is refunded to the person who paid it, and the prize pool goes back to the host or hosts.
  • Places nobody fills, and prize money that isn't won, go back to the host or hosts.

8Entry fees

In paid-entry contests, entry fees are held by Orabux until the contest ends. If the contest has winners, Orabux keeps a share and the rest goes to the host or hosts. The current share is shown in the app before a host sets a fee.

9Disqualification and changes

  • We can disqualify entries, hold or take back prizes, and cancel contests that break these rules or our Terms of use, or that we reasonably suspect involve fraud.
  • If we cancel a contest before it ends, entry fees are refunded and the prize pool goes back to the host or hosts.
  • If something outside our control (for example a technical fault) affects a contest, we may extend it, restart it or cancel it, and will tell everyone who entered.

10Your entry and your information

  • You keep ownership of your entry. Entering gives Orabux the licence described in our Terms of use, including showing your entry and winning result in the app and in posts that promote Orabux.
  • Winners' usernames, entries and prizes may be shown publicly in the app.
  • We use your information as described in our Privacy policy.
