Creative contests · Nigeria

Create.
Compete.
Win.

Orabux is where creators run talent contests with real prizes. The host puts the prize up before anyone enters, voting is free, and the entries with the most votes win.

Free · runs in your browser, on your phone or computer · nothing to download

How it works

From idea to winners in four steps

1

The host sets it up

Choose the theme, the rules and the prize. The prize comes out of the host's wallet before the contest opens, so it's there before anyone enters. Pay up to 10 places, in cash or a physical prize.

2

Creators enter with a video

Film it with your phone's camera or upload one you've made, up to 90 seconds. If the host picked a contest sound, it plays under every entry, so everyone performs to the same track.

3

People vote, free

Voting never costs anything. The host decides who can enter and who can vote: anyone, their followers, or people they invite.

4

The most votes win

When the timer runs out, winners are paid into their Orabux wallet automatically. A tie for a prize place extends the contest.

No download needed

Open orabux.com and you're in

Orabux runs in your browser. Sign up, host, enter, vote and use your wallet without installing anything.

On your phone

Works in Chrome, Safari and any modern browser. Swipe through entries, film yours with your phone's camera, and vote in a tap.

On your computer

The same Orabux on a bigger screen, with the menu down the side. Handy for setting up a contest or managing your wallet.

Add it to your home screen

On your phone, Orabux shows you how. It then opens full screen from its own icon, sends notifications for votes and wins, and still opens your saved screens with no signal.

For hosts

Run the contest your way

  • Co-host with friends. Up to 5 hosts share the prize, and whatever comes back is split by how much each one put in.
  • Free or paid entry. Open it to everyone for free, or charge an entry fee.
  • Set the bar. Require a minimum number of votes to win, and choose who can take part.
  • Share it anywhere. Every contest gets a ready-made poster and link to share anywhere.
For creators

Build a name, not just an entry

  • Medals on your profile. Every place you win stays on your profile for people to see.
  • Posts between contests. Share videos and photos to your followers' feed.
  • Talk to your fans. Comments with @mentions, and direct messages.
  • Get verified. An optional badge that shows people it's really you.
Wallet and safety

Your money, in naira, protected

Payments run through Paystack and Korapay, licensed Nigerian payment companies.

Add money by bank transfer

Get a transfer account in your Orabux wallet and send from any Nigerian bank. You receive exactly what you send.

Send to friends, free

Move money to any other Orabux user at no cost.

Withdraw to your bank

Cash out to any Nigerian bank account. The small transfer fee is shown before you confirm.

PIN on every payment

Every payment needs your wallet PIN, and 5 wrong tries lock it, so nobody can guess their way into your money.

Takeover protection

If your password, email, phone or PIN changes, withdrawals pause for 24 hours and you're told straight away, so a stolen login can't empty your wallet.

Every naira accounted for

Each deposit, prize, transfer and withdrawal is listed in your wallet history.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight

Is Orabux free?

Yes. Joining, voting and creating a contest are free, and so are adding money and sending it to other users. Orabux charges in only these cases:

  • Winning a prize: 10% of the prize.
  • Paid-entry contests: Orabux keeps 30% of the entry fees. The rest goes to the host.
  • Cashing out gifts: Orabux keeps 30% of the gifts' value.
  • Withdrawals: a small transfer fee, shown before you confirm. It goes to the payment company, not Orabux.
  • Verified badge (optional): ₦5,000 a month.
How are the winners chosen?

By votes. When the contest ends, the entries with the most votes take the prize places. If the host set a minimum number of votes, an entry must reach it to win. A tie for a prize place extends the contest.

Is the prize really there?

Yes. A contest can't open until the prize has been taken from the host's wallet and set aside. Winners are paid from that money automatically when the contest ends.

What if nobody wins?

If no entry qualifies, anyone who paid an entry fee gets it back, and the unused prize money returns to the host.

How do I get my winnings?

Prizes land in your Orabux wallet when the contest ends. From there you can withdraw to any Nigerian bank account, or use the money to host your own contest.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Open orabux.com in any browser, on your phone or computer, and sign up. On your phone, Orabux shows you how to add it to your home screen so it opens full screen from its own icon. On an iPhone, notifications only work once it's on your home screen.

Is there a phone app?

Android and iPhone apps are on the way. You don't need to wait for them: everything works at orabux.com today, and your account, wallet and contests will be the same in the apps.
